My and Our 237 and Healing (Mark 16:15-20)                                   1/17/2021

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the word “healing” has become an urgent matter. What is worse than the disease itself is the fact that there are many people who suffer and lost their lives without having the change to be healed. Not only physical diseases, but also mental diseases becoming so much more prevalent. Where do endless anxiety, loneliness, and disputes come from? They come from mental illnesses, but in a deeper sense, they are spiritual problems. King Saul from the Bible is a representative case. He suffered on his own and later took his own life during the war.

  1. Who can fundamentally heal our lives’ suffering and diseases? It is God himself.

1) He created life, and the absolute sovereignty over our life and death belongs to Him.

All of mankind’s diseases began when we became separated from God. Only the Bible reveals this to us.

Before Adam’s fall, there was no such thing as a disease. Diseases do not exist in heaven (Revelations 21:4).

Mankind separated from God and began committing sins, and the result of those sins are the pain of diseases.

That is why it says that when we realize our sins, repent, and pray a true prayer of faith, our illnesses will be healed (James 5:15-16).

The Bible says that in the background of it all, Satan is working to drag mankind into such suffering.

Of course, there are accidents, stress, and genetic diseases. A little bit of consolidation, hope, and medication can bring healing. But in the Bible, when Peter’s mother-in-law became ill, Jesus rebuked the fever as he healed her (Luke 4:39). This indicates that there are spirits of darkness working inside illnesses. Demons can directly work and possess someone, and sometimes that can manifest as different sicknesses. Bible records that Jesus healed a mute who was possessed by demons (Luke 11:14) and a lady who could not straighten her back for 18 years from demon possession (Luke 13:10-13). The person who recorded these cases in detail in the book of Luke was a doctor named Luke. He was a doctor whose spiritual eyes were open.

2) The reason God sent Christ was to give us this blessing of healing.

The reason Christ died on the cross was to heal us (Isaiah 53:5).

He bore our transgressions and sins (healing of the soul), gave peace to our troubled and suffering hearts (healing of the heart), and died to heal all the diseases that come with all our problems (physical healing).

Long-imbedded scars of our hearts can bring depression, addiction, and other mental illnesses. Christ came to heal those hearts that are hurt (Isaiah 61:1).

That is why Jesus called himself the doctor that heals lives (Luke 5:31-32).

  1. God has entrusted the work of healing diseased lives and the world to us, who know and enjoy this Christ.

The world is filled with problems that are unsolvable without Christ. He will use us as spiritual doctors.

1) When Jesus sent his 12 disciples, he gave them this authority (Matthew 10:8).

He also gave this power when he sent 70 lay-people disciples (Luke 10:9, 19). He sent them to give the gospel, heal the wounded, and drive out demons. With what authority? Christ’s authority (1Peter 2:9).

2) What signs did the passage say will follow those who believe in this authority?

Do not doubt, but just go and give the accurate answer of Christ. Demons will flee, our words will show power, even if we drink deadly poison, we will not be harmed, and when we pray for the sick, there will be works of healing. The covenant must become our imprint, root, and nature until this authority and power of Christ can be revealed through us.

3) That is when God will give His accurate word. Meditate and organize that word of God and share it. The word will work (Hebrews 4:12).

Why? It is because the Word is God himself, and that word became flesh and made his dwelling among us (John 1:1, 14). That is why when the disciples went out and shared this word, Christ was with them and gave them evidence through the signs that followed (19-20).

  1. How will we heal 237 nations and its people?

1) First, heal yourself and receive evidence to stand as a witness. Challenge toward your own life’s healing.

What sickness of your spirit, heart, body, or habits do you have? In this evil world, there is no choice for us but to go through illnesses.

Even evangelist Paul had a thorn of his own. Because he was weak, he looked to Christ even deeper (2 Corinthians 12:8-9).

Because we are weak, we must be in 24. Experiencing  God’s power is 25. We are looking to the authority and power of the throne (eternity).

It is an opportunity. We may experience that the disease disappears, or we overcome it with ease. That will become evidence.

We must hold onto the reason and build up our health in our everyday lives.

We must establish balance and routine in our lives so God can use us (prayer, food, breathing, exercise).

2) We must heal the church and receive strength to do healing ministry.

A church that has spiritual strength – it is our prayer (Matthew 18:18-20).

A church that the authority and power of the throne undoubtedly works upon – it is our evangelism and missions (Matthew 28:19-20).

A church in which the Word is living and active – it is up to us to correctly hold onto the word (1Thessalonians 2:!3).

3) Us as individuals and us as the church will stand firm and heal this age.

This is God’s conclusion. When Christ returns, this is the blessing that will be fulfilled in the new heaven and earth (Revelations 22:1-2).

The 7 remnants healed the age with the answer.

It may seem like Joseph was sold as a slave, but God sent Joseph as the healer of Egypt. David’s praise and psalms he wrote in meditation was used to heal the king and the age.

May we pray for remnant healing training, healing concentration training, healing mission home, and healing center.

We must have specialists in every field arise (meditation, breathing, food, exercise, medical specialist). Even just one remnant like the “beloved doctor Luke” (Colossians 4:14) can heal this age.

Conclusion – Only Christ can heal all creation and life, and he desires to heal us to heal the world. May we enjoy this blessing of healing first and be used as spiritual doctors in the empty fields that are in need of the gospel.
