The Fortress to Be Built for Future Generations (Ezekiel 48:30-35)                        1/26/2025

God commanded the Israelites, who returned from 70 years of captivity, to restore three things: Restore the temple, distribute the land, and restore the city of Israel. These three are the core of all prophetic books, the conclusion of Ezekiel, and the ultimate conclusion for all believers to restore.

Within this, there are three key blessings God’s saved people must recover.  Within this are the blessing of the 3 Courtyards.

First, as the temple was restored, the water that flowed from the temple brought life to all creation (blessing of Courtyard for Healing). God promises to heal our lives through Christ and His Word and use us to heal the world.

Second, the Israelites were to distribute the land even to the foreigners swelling among them (blessing of Courtyard for Gentiles). God gave us the blessing of land, an eternal inheritance, and the calling for us to be witnesses who bring life to all nations. Hold fast to all you do on this earth as God’s inheritance (Psalm 16:6). Through it, save the multiethnic people around you. Despite the challenges in the world, we are promised separate blessings to enjoy (Psalm 2:8, Isaiah 60:1-5).

Third, the Israelites were to construct the city and build city gates named after the 12 tribes (blessing of the Courtyard for Children). This symbolizes preparing for the future God has planned and establishing a system (a spiritual bartizan) for our descendants to be used by Him.

  1. The City is a defense system and boundary for all us, our families, and all believers. What must stand on top of the city walls? A bartizan. It is a post to guard us, our families, and our peoples against the enemy.

1) Why is this necessary? There exists one who has sought to rob humanity of God’s blessings since creation. This began in Genesis 3 and continues until Christ’s return. Jesus referred to him as a thief (John 10:10) and said he rules the darkness of this world (Ephesians 2:2-3). He operates through the spiritual forces of evil, manipulating those in power (Ephesians 6:12).

2) Our most important mission is to protect our future generations.

This is both an absolute mission and an absolute blessing. It begins with building ourselves up to raise future generations and create God’s work and future. The Israelites failed to hold on to this mission, and their descendants became slaves, captives, and occupied.

That is why spiritual bartizans established through parents’ covenant, tears, prayer, and dedication are important. Noah built the ark in recognition of this mission and blessing (Genesis 6:14, 18). Abraham is a witness to this blessing (Genesis 12:3, 22:18). Jesus restored this blessing to Peter after his failure (John 21:15).

Who are our descendants, our lambs? They are not only our biological children. So many of them are present in the church and the mission field. This is why the dedication of Sunday school teachers (Lincoln, Wanamaker, Moody) and Saturday summit school teachers are crucial.

3) Through this, the eternal kingdom of God must be established.

① Through our descendants, the kingdom of God must be inherited and expanded. Then God will be at work, and darkness will crumble in all the fields (Matthew 12:28). Only then will our children live and have a future.

② Our evangelism and missions are for preparing God’s eternal future. When this gospel has been preached to the ends of the earth, the end will come (Matthew 24:14) and a new heaven and new earth will begin (Revelation 21:5).

  1. What are the 12 gates of the City that God instructed to build?

1) It represents Christ, who became the way of salvation (John 14:6) and the door to salvation (John 10:7, 9). “I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture.” This is the blessing we must relay to our future generations for them to experience and enjoy. For all our life’s problems, the Son of God came as Christ, and became our way, our door, and our solution (John 19:30). Through Him, we gain eternal life, and that life bcomes abundant (John 10:10b).

2) Through Christ, all doors in our lives are opened (Revelation 3:8). We must live enjoying this blessing.

① The doors that God opens through Christ, no one can block (7 journeys). We are walking the journey that God prepared, God blessed, and God promises victory for.

② The power of the cross that comes from the death and resurrection on Calvary sends us all the way out to conquest of Rome (7 guideposts). The early church enjoyed this blessing. There was great persecution, but it all became opportunities.

③ We do not need any other power. All we need is the power of the Holy Spirit and blessing of the throne (7 bartizans). When we pray, God sends watchmen to our city and works with no rest (Isaiah 62:6-7).

3) The 12 gates symbolize the 12 tribes of Israel. This represents the “remained ones” chosen by grace in every age (Romans 11:5). They are sealed by the Holy Spirit, and no one can harm them (Revelation 7:3-4). The nations and peoples they save will stand before God’s throne (Revelation 7:9-10). Although they endure great suffering, they will stand victorious, washed in the blood of the Lamb and clothed in white (Revelation 7:14).

  1. The future of the United States that we live in is also tied to this.

This land must be a land that is built up by the remained ones who know Christ and enjoy the blessings within that.

1) It is prophesized that in the end times, the powerful nations will become a great spiritual warzone (Revelation 18:1-3).

① All demonic spirits gather as immigrants and refugees bring their idols with them. They will produce the bests of the world with the power of darkness. This is why summits gather in powerful nations.

The work that Satan initiated in Babel Tower in Genesis 11 continues under the name of Great Babylon. This will bring the entire land into corruption, and the world will crumble with them.

2) Whether or not this America will end that way depends on us and our future generations. The seven remnants in the bible steered the destiny for their nations. They all stood as spiritual summits of that powerful nation.

① Remnants must hold onto the covenant of becoming the spiritual summit in your fields and challenge in prayer (1Samuel 3:19, 16:23). Those who enjoyed the blessing of spiritual summit in their youth must go to college (college missionary), to the military (military missionary), to workplaces (workplace missionary) and establish the inheritance of light, inheritance of missions (specialized missionary).

② The place where they dwell becomes the land of Jehovah Shammah (“The Lord is there”), symbolizing the eternal New Jerusalem described in Revelation 21:1-3.

Conclusion – May even the smallest things in our lives become fortresses, gates, and blessings for future generations. May the Lord’s presence (“Jehovah Shammah”) continue to dwell in every aspect of our lives.
